CARBONPAVE SECURES LOUISIANA DOTD APPROVAL, OPENING A SCALABLE ENTRY POINT INTO THE U.S. ROAD MAINTENANCE MARKET

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Gramercy, Louisiana – April 7, 2026

Carbonpave today announced that the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) has formally approved Carbonpave Carbon Asphalt as a High-Performance Cold Mix for Patching and listed the product on the state’s official Approved Materials List (AML). This approval clears the way for immediate use of Carbonpave’s carbon‑enhanced cold asphalt technology on state road repair and pothole projects across Louisiana.

Under the approval, Carbonpave Louisiana, LLC is registered as an official supplier (DOTD supplier code APS00016760) with Carbonpave Carbon Asphalt classified under the product category “High Performance Cold Mix for Patch Material,” material description “High Performance Cold Mix for Patching,” and material code 9999M00180. Carbonpave’s Carbon Asphalt is now available to district engineers and contractors through LADOTD’s standard materials selection and procurement systems.

“State DOT approval is the critical bottleneck for any new pavement technology,” said André van Zyl, Co-founder & Chief Scientist of the Carbonpave Group of Companies. “LADOTD’s decision to place Carbonpave Carbon Asphalt on its Approved Materials List is a strong technical and regulatory validation of our Ambient Carbon Asphalt solution, and it creates an immediately monetizable pathway into one of the largest and most resilient segments of U.S. infrastructure spending: road maintenance and repair.

Transforming a Necessity Market into a Climate Asset

Across the United States, aging road networks mean that road resurfacing, patching and pothole repair account for the majority of annual pavement work, representing a large, recurring, and non‑discretionary spend category for state and local agencies. Carbonpave’s Ambient‑applied Carbon Asphalt is engineered to slot directly into this existing maintenance workflow while embedding engineered carbon into every ton of mix.

Carbonpave utilizes a wide range of engineered carbons, including biochar, which is then integrated into asphalt to create a durable, low‑temperature mix that sequesters, with permanence, carbon into the pavement for the life of road. By enabling “carbon‑storing” road repairs with standard equipment and familiar installation practices, Carbonpave transforms planned maintenance into a scalable, infrastructure‑backed climate solution

“Every lane‑mile that gets repaired with Carbonpave Carbon Asphalt permanently stores additional CO₂ while reducing the energy intensity and logistical constraints associated with traditional hot mix,” added T.T. Lim, co-founder and COO of the Carbonpave Group. The Carbonpave Group of Companies is now in a position to turn a cost center – fixing damaged roads – into a climate‑positive asset class

De‑Risked Scale-Up and Replicable State Playbook

The LADOTD approval includes clear quality‑control conditions which Carbonpave conforms to as part of its QA/QC system. This framework embeds rigorous quality discipline into Carbonpave’s growth model as volumes scale.

For investors, Louisiana now serves as a reference state and a replicable blueprint for expansion into additional U.S. jurisdictions:

  • Regulatory derisking: A U.S. state DOT has completed its review and formally approved Carbonpave’s product for regular use via the AML.
  • Immediate revenue pathway: Districts and contractors can specify and purchase Carbonpave Carbon Asphalt for road resurfacing, patching and pothole repair work through standard procurement, without special exemptions or pilot-only status.
  • Scalable model: The company can leverage in‑field performance data, LADOTD’s approval codes, and the quality‑assurance protocol as a template for approaching other state DOTs.

Local Presence in Louisiana

Carbonpave Louisiana, LLC is registered at 710 E. Airline Hwy, Gramercy, LA 70052, and will support deployment, contractor training, and coordination with LADOTD districts.
